New appointed candidates are put on probationary period of two years. After successful completion of this period, newly appointed candidate on JE posts gets salary as per Level 10 of Rajasthan 7th pay matrix with starting pay scale of Rs. 33800 per month (equivalent to Pay Band 2 Rs. 9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs. 3600).
The Starting basic pay of these posts is Rs. 33800.
Salary as Probationary Trainee
A new joining candidate have to complete 2 years probation period. During this probationary Period, a fixed remuneration / salary of Rs. 23700 per month is paid to the candidate. No allowances like DA, HRA etc. are given to candidate during probation except leaves and other benefits as mentioned in Rajasthan service rules.

Salary Calculation Formula:
Basic Pay + DA + HRA + Other Allowances (CCA, TA, Special allowance if applicable) = Total Salary
The approximate starting salary of Junior Engineer in this pay scale is around Rs. 47600-51000 which depends on place of posting and allowances paid. Posting can be done anywhere in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan JE Salary Structure:
- Starting Pay Scale: Rs. 33800 per month (equivalent to Pay Band 2 Rs. 9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs. 3600)
- Starting Basic Pay: Rs. 33800 per month
- Salary during Probation period: Rs. 23700 per month
- Starting Total Salary of JE posts in Rajasthan (after Probation period): Around Rs. 47600-51000 per month depending on area of posting and allowances.
- Deducations: Around 4500 (NPS @10% of Basic pay+DA + Other Taxes if applicable)
- Cash in Hand Salary: Rs. 43100-46500 per month.
Allowances (calculated on basic pay):
- Dearness allowance
- House Rent Allowance (HRA)
- Compensatory (City) Allowance: Rs. 320-620 if applicable to city of posting.
- Special Pay and / or other allowance(s), if applicable, as per rules of Rajasthan govt.
HRA:
- 18% of Basic pay for Class Y Cities i.e. Jaipur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Kota, Jodhpur.
- 9% for Other Cities of Rajasthan.
HRA was 8-16% when DA was below 25%.
RSMSSB has released advertisement no. 01/2022 for 1092 JE posts (1040 posts of Non TSP area and 52 posts of TSP area) through Kanisth Abhiyanta Sanyukt Sidhi Bharti Pariksha. Among these 1092 posts, 486 posts are to be filled in PWD, 236 in Swayatt Shashan department, 368 in Public Health Engineering Department.
