AFCAT Salary 2024 All Officer Posts Pay Scale

AFCAT exam is conducted by IAF twice in a year. Candidates have to pass written exam and AFSB testing and medical exam to got selected for these posts. They are given following scales of Pay and perks / benefits upon appointment.

IAF offers the following pay and allowances
Flying Cadets Salary during training period: Even before being commissioned as Air Force Officer, a monthly stipend of Rs. 56,100/- is given during last one year of your training period at any of the Air Force Training Institutions.
On successful completion of Training, the newly Commissioned Flying Officers are given approximate total monthly emoluments in different branches including Transport Allowance of major cities as follows:-

Flying Officers:-
Pay in Pay Band ( Common to all Branches ) - Rs 56,100 Per Month ( Level 10 in the Pay Matrix of 7th CPC - 56,100-1,77,500)
Military Service Pay (MSP) :- Rs 15,500 Per Month
Officers are also given Other allowances such as :
  • Dearness Allowance (DA)
  • HRA
  • Transport allowance
  • Children Education Allowance
  • Kit Maintenance allowance
  • DA on TA etc.

Total Salary is the sum of basic pay and all allowances. 

In addition, the following allowances are also given:

  • Flying Allowance to Flying Branch Officers.
  • Technical Allowance to Technical Branch Officers.
  • Allowances applicable on nature of duty / place of posting i.e. Field Area, Area and Remote Locality Allowance, Special
    Compensatory (Hill area), Special Force, Siachen, Island Special Duty, Test Pilot &
    Flight Test Engineer
Insurance for Officer posts : - Air force personnel are given life insurance cover under the Air Force Group Insurance Scheme ( AFGIS). Monthly contribution rates are minimal and the insurance policy covers all contingencies. Air Force Officer are insured for Rs 75 lakhs with an additional insurance cover of Rs 10 lakhs for pilots.
